Multi-Color Corporation (MCC), one of the largest label companies in the world, has announced the acquisition of Starport Technologies, a provider of smart label solutions based in Kansas City, MO, USA. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. 

Founded in 2006, Starport manufactures a wide range of RFID products and other types of smart labels for numerous consumer and supply chain applications. Its unique manufacturing processes enable various face materials, adhesives, RFID transponders, printing, and other specialty coated web materials to be converted into a single pass through its converting platform. 

The acquisition complements and strengthens MCC’s greater than 20 years of experience in RFID labeling solutions.

Meanwhile, Todaytec, a supplier of thermal transfer ribbon, has announced the appointment of Nimitt Adhvaryu to vice president of sales. With over 22 years of experience in labeling and packaging, Adhvaryu brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the printing industry that will help propel Todaytec to new heights.

Prior to joining Todaytec, Adhvaryu provided sales and marketing consulting to many clients in the industry, demonstrating a commitment to excellence. He has worked with a variety of manufacturers to drive compliance, automation, sustainability, and deliverability. His drive for profitable growth and dedication to sales aligns with Todaytec’s mission to deliver quality products to its clients.
